Well I finally got started good on my CC01 for the Scale4x4rc.org Comp in AL this weekend. I am still waiting on some bearings to put everything together. I got a jump start on it since I got the body used off Midwestrcc.com. Mounted up some Traxxas Summit Front and Rear bumpers. I haven't seen a build yet using these, so I thought I will give it a try. I cut the roller fairlead off the Pro-Line winch and Sho-Gooed it in an indention on the Summit front bumper. Specs: Tamiya CC-01 RC4WD 4:1 GRU Tamiya Silver Can (for now..waiting on a Integy 35T to try out) Traxxas XL-5 Waterproofed TQ2 Tx/Rx 6 Cell NiMH battery or 2 Cell Lipo Some unknown steering servo. Yeah Racing TA02 Front Universals Axial 1.9 Beadlocks RC4WD 1.9 Mud Thrashers. RC4WD Scale Hubs Proline Ambush CGR body w/ Cage Traxxas Summit Front and Rear Bumper with LEDs Homemade Hi-Lift jack and some Pro-Line Scale Accessories Tamiya BFG on HPI Stock car wheel as a spare Steve Irwin as the Driver Last edited by constantmotion; 07-19-2009 at 04:54 PM. |

I like the stripes on the body. Nice use of those summit bumpers. Glad to see something other than the proline bumpers.

| Yeah, I've liked these bumpers since I saw them. I saw that they were the same width has the Pro-Line bumpers and thought let's try em out. I don't know how this rig will perform having about a 11" WB, but I got this body for a good deal.

Got everything assembled. The damn TA02 Yeah Racing Universals musta been the wide version. Nothing in the description mentioned anything about wide. Had to revert to the stock dog bones for now. When I was assembling the driveshaft, I found out that I am one pede yoke short. I had 1 Traxxas steel yoke and 0 stock plastics ones. Gotta run by SloppyTown tomorrow and cross my fingers that they have some....hope a pack of steel ones. I got to mount the shocks now. My WB is sitting at 11 1/4". I used some Traxxas Revo 112mm pushrods and lower links. They fit perfect for this WB. I also used some aluminum angle iron to fab up some lower link and shock mounts.

for teh TA-02,the only way they work,is if you use their wide arms, which SUCK and the tolerances are horrible, we ended up with a drop of super glue in the suspsnesion pin holes, then used a drill bit by hand ot open it back up

Finally got another Traxxas steel yoke to get this rig in 4WD. I decided last light after finally getting to drive it around that the stock steering had to go. I did that pantablo steering mod. I also swap the "unknown" servo for a TowerPro MG995. I didn't have any allthread available so I worked with what I had. I used a T-Maxx tierod for the main steering link and a small piece of allthread for a drag link. I did get to drive it a little bit outside this evening. The body isn't secured in the back in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Znfr9NlgNdQ Last edited by constantmotion; 07-21-2009 at 07:57 PM. |

Dang... I just can't get myself to hack it that much for the steering. Maybe I need to buy another CC-01 just for that reason. Rig looks great. |

| This the 2nd one that I have had....I was very lenient on the 1st one, but this I didn't even question it. I guess when I had my other one, parts were very few and far between. Now we have the Jero and the Wrangler.
