I could spend a ton of time using epoxy, shims, etc to clean it up, but id rather find some parts that can clean up the majority of the slop fairly quickly. Please by all means post up if you find other parts that fit, thats why I started this thread in the first place. | Welcome to the world of tamiya and the homonym slop!
Don't sweat about it too much, it isn't worth it. Some people racing the tamiya cars will swear on their life if you remove all slop the cars don't handle anymore. I have tried like you in the past to remove all slop, use only quality balljoints, etc and I managed to get it to my liking. But in the end, the result is the same (i.e. a cheap kit). The moral is this is not racing, take the kits for what they are, don't try to make them into top performers when they're meant for bashing.
If you look even at kits such as the TRF TC kits they still have slop which is unbelivable, but true. It's a joke when you obsess about shock rebound to discover the slop in the shock mounts is nullifying your efforts entirely. As for the "cheap" (they don't seem cheap to me) kits the slop is so bad, it looks like the whole car sucks its wheels under when you pick it up.
