An Italian 'jero Good evening everyone, here I am with my first project on a CC-01. First of all, the goods I collected for this rig: http://i.imgur.com/E2saT.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/7j2rYl.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uPhIN.jpg The chassis came in sligthly used, and already modded with rear 3-link (using an Axial Y) and front clearance improved. http://imgur.com/zW6ta.jpg http://imgur.com/b0xTR.jpg http://imgur.com/2P6U0.jpg http://imgur.com/yPOVy.jpg I disassembled the whole chassis, cleaned it up a bit, installed my ball bearings and reassembled the transmission using only stainless-steel hex screws :) http://i.imgur.com/F3WrJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RhvSq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/KbYb9.jpg Next I modified the R32 wing: http://i.imgur.com/DDs8r.jpg Cut away the stock mounts and with the help of a heat blower i bended it a bit to fit the Jero body: http://i.imgur.com/T7gBj.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vxjvJ.jpg Still needs some more work but I'll return to this later; first I have to complete the chassis. For now, I have modded the front C's and links to gain some suspension travel and steering angle, and installed TLT shocks: http://i.imgur.com/6OQRz.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Umvmv.jpg ...and the GPM kit: http://i.imgur.com/qG2oG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dqkIR.jpg Also to limit bump steer, i added a spacer under the knuckle uniball, to have the steering link work (almost) with the same angle as the suspension links. http://i.imgur.com/58xwJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PBPtA.jpg In the above pictures I was using the Tundra rims and stock CC-01 tires that came along with the chassis. I already ordered some Losi 1,9" mini crawler wheels with blue beadlocks, and I have an Atomic Mods 100T heading to my home, I will run it at 3S LiPo. Sorry for my bad English  and see you soon for some updates  |
Welcome! Looking good so far!"thumbsup" |
good buildup soo far. |
Good looking mix of parts you have there. Can't wait to see how this all comes together. Welcome aboard. |
good start, nice work on the shocks |
looks like you're off to a great start on this project"thumbsup" |

Here are some updates: Front 5mm body lift http://i.imgur.com/iBb57.jpg Mounted the Mud Trashers on the temporary rims...I think I'll have to trim the front bumper a lot...maybe strip it off and use some Proline bumpers  http://i.imgur.com/7om3q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/tsReX.jpg Found some titanium uniballs at the local hobby shop: http://i.imgur.com/Jgala.jpg and used them for the lower links: http://i.imgur.com/1eFUw.jpg Had to cut the chassis frame to make room for the center link support: http://i.imgur.com/fiLdp.jpg Mandatory flex shots (still with no rear ammo installed and no electronics): http://i.imgur.com/ogSEy.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZEMQ9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Aq9YG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/dGKtX.jpg Then, I had some chewing gum box laying around: http://i.imgur.com/ue0Ko.jpg Stripped off, and here is my fuel tank (to be painted, of course): http://i.imgur.com/WXjNo.jpg Moved to the body, closed the roof antenna hole and the two rear mounting holes, that I will drill 5mm lower to lift the body. Also drilled the holes for mounting the Tundra snowboard supports: http://i.imgur.com/UbX8d.jpg http://i.imgur.com/3NbfP.jpg Went ahed sanding the body and glued the R32 wing to it; will be sanded and made flush with the help of some epoxy when the glue will dry: http://i.imgur.com/VfdPB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rgBE1.jpg Last, I modified the front wheelwells to make room for the bigger tires: http://i.imgur.com/e2yzx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ZLD0c.jpg  |
looking good, mentos the fresh maker! |
The 100T motor came in! http://i.imgur.com/NTZh1.jpg Installed: http://i.imgur.com/fp4hM.jpg I ordered some GPM lower shock supports, had them mounted on the rear axle and threw in some electronics for yesterday's first test of the chassis (the body is my basher one): http://i39.tinypic.com/33063r4.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/1lzcz.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/zjyv08.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/30bmope.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/zvwm7n.jpg As you can see, I initally had to mount the shocks upside down and bolted to the upper hole of the GPM supports; otherwise, they would interfere with the lattest on flex. This gave the rear an unrealistic ride height, but I thought it would have been ok for a first run. http://i43.tinypic.com/v3kl1e.jpg http://gi134.photobucket.com/groups/...escaler016.jpg http://gi134.photobucket.com/groups/...escaler017.jpg http://gi134.photobucket.com/groups/...escaler032.jpg http://gi134.photobucket.com/groups/...escaler042.jpg http://gi134.photobucket.com/groups/...escaler058.jpg Today I scratched my head a lot on how to solve this issue, and I came out mounting some bigger and bent rod ends to the TLTs: http://i.imgur.com/3iao4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nAhA6.jpg Waaaaaaay better! http://i.imgur.com/2KCHD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/nkUwb.jpg http://i.imgur.com/rM19n.jpg |
im liking this truck alot, just dont know about the 100t motor, seems like it would only crawl about 2 inches a minute lol |

Lotta updates!!! First, I swapped the two GPM supports to obtain more clearance among the rear tires and the shocks: http://i.imgur.com/Jl0Cb.jpg Then added some reinforcement to the upper mounts: http://i.imgur.com/LsjN2.jpg At that point I shot a short video of my Pajero having a trip in my garden. It shows the crawling speed of the 100T and also a couple full-throttle runs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-z__uAAm4U Back to the updates, new rims came in http://i.imgur.com/j8XAp.jpg They have a significantly higher offset, that will ensure the tires won't hit the shocks and also improve lateral stability of the chassis http://i.imgur.com/mfzcr.jpg Added some weight to the wheels by wrapping a 3mm lead sheet around them twice; it is kept in place by some adhesive tape http://i.imgur.com/3hRGA.jpg They look killer  http://i.imgur.com/txNuM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fqToG.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XIkb1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/uuKQZ.jpg Flex has improved thanks to wheel weights http://i.imgur.com/X5s6t.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ltlfz.jpg Aluminium servo mount went in (great piece of machining!) http://i.imgur.com/gy1WW.jpg And rear links were covered with brass tube to match che color of the shocks http://i.imgur.com/e7U3e.jpg "thumbsup" |

Last Saturday my mates and I had another nice walk in the woods, and we brought our Jeros for some testing http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2003.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2004.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2009.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2011.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2012.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2020.jpg http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/y...scaler2022.jpg Last night I had some spare time and I drilled the rear mounting holes, 5mm lower than the original ones: http://i.imgur.com/VsGRs.jpg Then started adapting the rear wing, that I had glued to the body, with the help of some putty: http://i.imgur.com/rjWiH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/affTZ.jpg Still have to sand it down properly, but I like the look "thumbsup" |

Now that I completed my master thesis (i'm now a Master Computer Engineer 8)) I will hopefully have some more spare time for working on my rig...before I can find a job :lmao: Here are some updates: Closed the original hole at the battery tray, the LiPo's I will be using are small enough to fit inside the chassis and will install them from the top, using some velcro: http://i.imgur.com/bA5Hp.jpg http://i.imgur.com/JX0CQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/FjPVB.jpg Then cut away the original bumpers to make room for the Western Bumpers by Proline: http://i.imgur.com/eIciH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/D6noI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/A4C4M.jpg Used some epoxy on the chewing gum box obtaining a nice fuel tank (to be painted aluminium): http://i.imgur.com/bS0Oe.jpg Talk about tight fit (or luck? :ror:): http://i.imgur.com/ZSNFj.jpg Body will use the original rear posts: http://i.imgur.com/IUA9R.jpg That will be hidden by the new bumper: http://i.imgur.com/1ndXm.jpg Will use some velcro at the front, here a mockup of the final look: http://i.imgur.com/Bba8q.jpg http://i.imgur.com/UlerF.jpg "thumbsup" |
