For the first question, it should be in the instructions how to set it up. As far as improving your rig, with the CC there are many things you can do. The most common mods are the removal of the front brick, and modding the rear 4-link. For the front brick, or the protrusion in the front of the chassis, you simply cut it off with a saw and fab up a skid plate out of scrap metal. I used the bottom of a coffee can for mine:

Also if you lock the front and read diffs, it will improve the traction. You do this by removing one of the spider gears and pushing it between the other spider gears like so:

For the 4-link, GPM has a kit that improves the 4-link. Here is the link:

GPM also has a ton of stuff for the CC chassis that will improve the durability, style, and performance of your rig

I'm thinking about going LSD too but am not too sure what wt fluid to use. I know a really heavy wt should be used but I want my diff to be really stiff maybe say 80% locked. Any fluid out there that does this? What did you use in yours?

Here's a basic 4-link setup on my rig works great. The shocks mount to the links themselves and are held on by the knitting needle link sheathing I used. Sorry the pic is fuzzy...
