Started this a while ago, getting back to it to finish it off - posting the pics to catch up, and will update as it moves forward. Started as a wel used Jero, and broke the rear body mounts 3 times while on the rocks. Got ticked, decided to take it to the next level. List of mods. Basic Mods: Rock Creepers on stock Axial Beadlocks GPM steering and front suspension HPI GRU with 27t motor and 20t pinion WK shocks with internal springs (not sold on them yet...but work well enough for now) Start: Shaved chassis and closed in the body Cage fabbed...brass tubing for light weight. Truck is already a porker Modded axle, made some new shock mounts Painted cage, flex shot - plenty for a CC chassis Front bumper Body painted Need to paint the front bumper and grill, fab some body mounts, add lights (need 10) and details. Hoping to have this back on the rocks before the snow flies... |

| Thanks guys. I remember somewhere a while ago I saw a CC rig with the rear section completely cut off and tubed, but can't remember where. Probably here somewhere - it was pretty impressive and I had it in the back of my mind when working on this one. Creepers are great - perfect size for this chassis with the stock set-up and good overall grip. Trying a set of Losi bashers on my other CC rig, so we'll see which does better. They are not as scale, but they were also $16 for all 4, so worth a shot imo. |

Looks awesome! Love the rear section you made for it. Where did you get the front bumper plate for the block? Keep us posted on your work!

Very nice, easily one of the best CC-01 builds I've seen Can I ask what you used to make the tube parts? I'm looking to make a bullbar and some other bits for mine but I'm not sure whether to use brass, steel, or aluminium tubing.

| Front bumper plate is just 2mm 6061 cut and bent to fit. Re-read the original post....but the pics tell the story. Did a bit of painting and detail this weekend - finally blacked out that grill, did some detail lines, etc. Fabbed some body mounts finally too. Structurally, I'm about done. Have to just do an electronics tray and add some more details....and wire up a lot of lights! |

Looks good with the grill blacked out. I like that color of blue too for the body. It's coming along nicely! Thanks for the response on the front bumper plate. I figured it was custom but I wanted to make sure. Looks similiar to the one I made for mine. |

Slowly making progress...take it down once in a while and chip away at it. Lights, body mounts (need to be lowered)....got the rest of the LED's on order... wiring up the light bar up top should be interesting. Getting ugly in here. |

| Thank you sir! I use magnets mounted on an L bracket on the back of the cab. All electronics are crammed in, last ugly pic of the interior.. Have an 1800 lipo currently, and just got a new TRX 2200mah to try out. Lights all finally came in...the yellow lights look green in this pic, but they are a nice shade in person. Good flex for a CC chassis (almost too much, we'll see) and no rubbing. Closed in the battery opening, and started working on the wheelwells to hide all the wiring. Need to pick up some black paint to black out the back of the lights. If I had actually been thinking this morning, I would bundled the light wires to the left or right so I could run them down the cage rail, but I was in get it done mode, so they are bundled right down the center. Sick of this truck being on the workbench, and have other stuff to get to - WILL by finished by Christmas |
