I am trying to find some tires for my pajero but all the ones I find are too tall and don t look right. Does anyone know what tires fit and look/perform good?

I am running Rc4wd mud thrashers on my lr3 and like them so far, not quite as good as a flat iron but still good. These are the 1.55 version of what I am using... https://store.rc4wd.com/mobile/home.asp?#page-25 |

Nice pajero there JB:thumbup:^^^I ran the same tires on steelies (1.55) on my cc01 jeep Wrangler stock. They performed better than the 1.9 thrashers I had on a different cc01 before this one! I no longer have the cc01 anymore but I kept the tires for a future rig. Imo..I think the mtz's will both perform and look great on a pajero without having to modify the wheel wells.

I've got Mud Slingers 1.9 These Hobbyking pre mounted set 1.9 RC4WD mud pluggers 1.9 These RC4WD rock crushers 1.9 And these RC4WD desert kings 1.55 And a bunch of kit tires, but my choice by far are the 1.55s. Look scale, perform great. My choice... |

| Re: need help finding tires. Thats probably the best looking of the bunch. The Mudslinger 1.9's are good overall height but the treadblocks look too big to scale. I was never happy with any of them so I made my own: (front and back are different experiments) Both front and back are rc4wd tires (treads only) grafted to stock CC-01 sidewalls. You can make your own: This is stock cc-01 tire on left, modified tire on right with Mud Thrasher treads: From L to R, Stock Mud Thrasher, Hybrid tire, Stock CC-01 tire Cut the sidewall of cc-01 tire Cut the sidewall out of the Mud Thrasher, along the treadblock line then cut the tire across the treads. You'll be reducing the overall diameter so you need to reduce them by cutting out a section. Start gluing the cc01 sidewall onto the Mud Thrasher tread using regular CA Once you get to the end you'll know how much to cut off the tread to mate the ends. Do again for the other side and you'll end up with this Here's a video how to I did: Making a hybrid scale tire - YouTube Last edited by pantablo; 04-09-2013 at 11:27 PM. |

Pantablo, you are a legend with your tire mods. I watched that clip, and it inspired me the "cut and shut" my old Flat Irons. I removed 3 lugs, and it improved the overall hieght quite drastically.

Thanks. I'm nothing special in that way though. If I can do it so can anyone else. I bought a few sets of used tires cheap to practice on for my first ones... Glad it inspired you! | |
