Ever have one of those nights where you stayed up too late, forgot to take your meds and decided your totally cool FJ40 needed to become an FJ45? Yeah. This is that. The bed was hacked off my Unimog and should do well, after some hacking. Got some cab corners to fabricate and a lot of gluing to do.... |

Started stitching it back together. Going for a serious short box thing! |

Thanks. Just layered the paint and let it happen, mostly.

A little more work this afternoon. I Needed to make some filler pieces for cab corners. I decided to use styrene. I bent it to shape over a piece of copper pipe after warming it up with a heat gun. Clamped in place while the Shoe Goo sets. This one was a little short, but that's easy to fix. I've been working out how to finish this spot on the truck. It's a spot that's going to take a few hits and I'm concerned the filler would fall out. Maybe a set of metal cab corner protectors would be a good idea. I've got a bunch of metal flashing around I can cut and bash into shape. Started bobbing the ex-Unimog bed. It will likely lose a little more length. I could extend the wheelbase on the chassis a bit to make a well proportioned truck, but I just don't feel like it. This thing will end up looking like an airport tug and I'm okay with that. |

Did a little more reinforcing today, as well as initial mockup to see how much bed I'll be hacking out for tire clearance. Getting there... |

Almost there. Still needs rear bumper, cab corners, bed corners and maybe some mud flaps. Got the super easy new camo paint done. (to hide at lest a few of my terrible bodywork sins. Also got the rear quarter cuts roughed in. |
