| 18.5 or 21.5
After trying a few cheaper options I hace decided to go for the Nvak Goat 3s system. I use my LCC more in the yard than any serious climbing - 21.5 or 18.5? First brushless Thanks |

I would go with the 18.5 to get a little more wheel speed. You can always gear down if needed + use your dig if you get stuck.

since those are ballistic motors with the 14mm rotor go with the 18.5t and the 21.5 will have no wheel speed

Ummmm, 18.5, 21.5? Ford, Chevy? Revo, Savage? Both are really good Motors, and will work fine for your situation....I bet you'll be happy with either one. |

I'm using the Tekin 21.5 and I believe a 14T right now and it has plenty of wheel speed and good power. You can't go wrong with either.

I'm running the goat 3s with the ballistic 21.5 with a 16t pinion, the wheel speed is just on the verge of to slow for drops and ledges but its working I think i need to go to an 18, but it has all the torq needed, I think if i did it again I would go with the 18.5

I have the ballistic 21.5 goat 3s combo, and it packs enough wheel speed for me and all the torque in the world and thats with a 13t pinion. I havn't had a chance to play with gearing yet since shes only a few runs old but after an entire pack the motor is barely even noticeably warm and the esc feels like it was barely used.

it comes down to your battery choice.......less volts(7.4) needs faster motor(18.5)......more volts(11.1) slower motor(21.5) Then fine tune to driving style with gearing.

Ive used both on 3s Lipo. I burned the 21.5 motor by gearing it up so much trying to get wheel speed out of it. The 18.5 with a 13T pinion is the real deal.

I am running a 21.5 Tekin on 3s with a 15t and it has enough wheel speed to flip it back on to its wheels most of the time with a grappler pro body and plenty everywhere else.

18.5 with a 12t pinion works great for me also the new worms would kick the speed up! |

Got a 17.5 with a 12t. The same motor with a 13t ran hot. My current wheelspeed is fine.

I have a 21.5, 15t, goat 3s, and parallel 1000's. It seems fine to me, better than when I got it because it had a 17t.

I run a tekin 21.5, 14t, on 3s and have good wheel speed. But if your running around the yard you probably want more speed than torque.

The guys commenting that they have plenty wheelspeed with the Tekin 21.5 need to realize that it's a faster motor than the ballistic 18.5 and way faster than a ballistic 21.5 Ballistic 21.5 1350KV Ballistic 18.5: 1650KV Tekin 21.5 and silver novak 21.5: 1800KV Tekin 17.5: 2200KV silver novak 18.5: 2700 KV 14mm rotors slow the Tekin's to the Ballistic speeds and 12.3mm rotors speed up the ballistic's to silver can/Tekin speeds. 13mm rotors break the difference but I've never saw KV's listed anywhere. If anybody has a chart that list the different KV's for all the stator/rotor combo's out there I'd love to see it. |
