DX3R, DX3E are the surface radio's that you can use from Spektrum. You can use a Futaba 3PK or an Airtronics M8 or M11 with Spektrum modules as well.

i used the airtronics m8. was very awkward to control dig. 3rd channel is dial controlled. i marked the dial for epa's so it wouldn't pop the servo.got the dx3e and works awesome

Your aux or 3rd channel should be 2 pos so you could but if you were only going to have one dig why would you want rear dig? Front dig is more useful imo

Why do you have to mod the dx3? it has a 3position switch standard, works quite well as-is.

No, it is way better if you run a toggle switch. Way easier to use and it is not momentary. Try it, it is only a $4 mod for a nice switch from a electronics store. The "A" button location (or is it the "B" button that works the dig) is in a very uncomfortable spot to try and use all of the time. You can put the toggle in a much more comfortable location.

it is already a 2 position.

if you meant 3 position, no it will not work that way.

dx3 - 3 model memory - 3 pos 3rd channel
dx3r - 30 model memory - 3 pos 3rd channel
dx3e - single model memory - 3 pos 3rd channel

only options for spektrum brand radios with 3 pos. 3rd channel.

dx3.0 - 4 model memory - 2 pos 3rd channel
dx3s - 10 model memory - 2 pos 3rd channel.

that is the gammet of 3 channel surface radios from spektrum
