Tough break Larry, I always do my best regardless if I am up by 50 pts or down 50 pts, like my coach always said never stop till the whistle blows. Quote:
Also I feel like there are way to many open ended issues that need to be cleared up as far as rules, pay out,how many run in the shoot out stuff like like needs to be set in stone instead of being changed week to week I am fine with whatever is decided, I just want to know how it is going to be. I believe we determined over 12 people we will pay out ,1st and 2nd but what about the run off is it gonna be top 3 or top 5 and are we gonna go by the USRCCA rules, if so I have a printed copy I will bring and leave there so there will be no controversies, when there is money on the line I take it very seriously maybe to serious, If so just tell me to shut up It just seems those things are brought up every week. Wish I could've been there to just whip up on everyone, so there was no controversies! Kidding, of course, haha. |

I like top 3 b/c of the time issue but if everyone else is for top 5 I am cool with that, I just would like to know instead of trying to determine it right before the run off |

with as many people as we've been getting lately on thursdays, i think a top 5 run off still works out. if we were back to how we were in december/january and such where there were 20ish people a week, that would be different. i guess that's not really helpful tho... but as someone who is working on some of those nights, as long as i'm out of here around 830-845ish i'm fine |

(3 or 5) I think you are going to have several people for both. Josh... you basically own (run) this comp. My opinion is that everyone should all just go with what you decide. As for judging... The layout at HT makes it hard for a judge to be on both sides of the course to have close eyes on both gates. What happened with Bob's run has happened before... even on a run of mine once. Another competitor had a better view of a gate and saw something the judge didn't. My suggestion is that the judge should do nothing but keep time, watch the run and call out penalties. The other person (the one that usually holds the clock) should help watch and mark the scoresheet as the judge calls out penalties. If we do that ... the judge has eyes on the course at all times, no distraction of trying to make penalty marks or adding up points to tell a driver what he has left. That judge also has the final call. No questions asked. We always have two people working the course every run anyway... and I think that would help avoid questionable call in the future. |
