Cheap in your sons hands = broken Get an SCX10 RTR and let him have some fun. You can buy the venom cheap, then replace all the parts he breaks or you can buy an SCX10 and have a better chance of it lasting, better part availability and better support. OR...you can teach him to listen, drive and be less abusive on the rig Matt |

Plus if you are allready running axial gear, you should run the same for your son that way your tool box doesn't get clustered with parts for axial and parts for venom. Yes the scx10 will been more expensive up front but cheaper in the long run |

See that man, his crapper didnt last a day...if your kid even LOOKS at it, itll fall apart. Bulletproof is somethin you want for younger kids gettin into the world of crawling! Matt |

i got a venom comp crawler and the safari. they have a couple minor issues to work out. the safari comes with axle pin locks, that gets rid one one problem. other problem is the lockable diffs. just fill the diff with jb weld or get a set of lockers. the stock esc dont like lipos ether but look at the pros the safari has 2.2 wheels and tires already has a 4 link has a dig unit already search youtube, theres tons of videos where the safari will out preform the scx10 heres mine safari comp |

Nah.. Knowing how venom stuff performs from my experience. I'd go Scx-10. I've had mine a year now and it's had no problems mechanically.. Only thing that happened was the stock esc caught on fire on mine.. but I was glad I went with a holmes hobbies esc after that happened..Oh and only other real upgrade I did was buy a metal SERVO SAVER, that was the weakest point of the axial rig..
