In Gainsevile you're not too far from Lake Murray in OK. Nor from the Turner Falls area up there. There should be some really sweet areas up that way. I'd like to go check 'em out and see what's available. I know around the dam and just to the east at Lake Murray there's some really nice rock as well as around Tucker Tower, there might be some around the spillway too - downstream of the road. Here are a few pics I found of Turner Falls: I couldn't link to his pics, but there are some really sweet ones here: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/483112002DUxQyv Another album with some equally enticing pics: http://picasaweb.google.com/melaniec...7TurnerFallsOK A couple of Lake Murray (didn't find a lot of 'rock' pics): I'd love to go up and camp one night and spend a day and a half scouting and running. |

It looks like we may get to head that way next weekend. I was thinking about coming up in the AM, setting up camp at Murray, then heading over to Tishomingo to check out Devil's Den and Pennington Creek, plus I'd really like to go by 10 Acre Rock, for a few hours. Then maybe come back to camp for lunch and a li'l play time on the rocks at Murray, then over to the Turner Falls area. Might have to do Turner Falls on Sunday, might have a pretty full plate exploring over by Tish. I'll check out the OK site and post up when we know for sure. |
