Default Calling DFW, TX forumites!

Anyone around here from the Dallas area?

I'd like to find out where everyone goes to run their crawlers, and would like to hook up with some people for a group romp.

I'm also trying to compile a list of crawl locations for my LHS, T 'N T Hobbies in Plano, TX. This way, they can provide the info to customers. They sell a fair number of crawlers, and just about everyone asks for places to run it.

I already know that Mike's Hobby shop in Carrolton has a small indoor rock pile, and Indy RC in Garland has a bunch of rocks they are trying to figure out what to do with.

I know of two other locations. The place I went today is off the northbound access road of Hwy 75 in McKinney, just north of Eldorado parkway. There are 5-6 culverts their with rock piles.

The other one is at a dam in a small stream in Plano. From Custer, turn east on Lookout dr, and go to the end, where there is a small parking lot and park. About 75 meters north of the parking area is where you'll find the crawl zone.

Please, any other DFW forumites, chime in with your crawl areas of choice!

Default Weatherford Count?

Hey I live in Weatherford, and from what I have heard Mineral Wells has a great park with huge rocks. There is a Dallas club that holds comps in our area.

They will be starting comps pretty soon.

When I lived in Denton (and worked in McKinney), I used to crawl at Murrell Park on Lake Grapevine (Flower Mound side) and used to buy the parts I needed from BMI in Plano.

First off, this is in the wrong section. Texas has an area on this site where all the local talk is kept. I'm going to move this thread there now.

http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/texas/

NTXRCC is the Dallas/Ft. Worth and surrounding areas club. We hold comps all the way out towards Weatherford, down to Glen Rose and up to Lake Grapevine. Click on the link below and it will take you to our main competition info page. There should be all the info you need to know there.

There's a creek that runs North/South through Mountain View College which is located in SW Dallas just off Spur 408 & Illinois Ave. There's terrain just NOrth of the College along the creek consisting of eroded limestone gullies and I can assure you It'll rock your world. Awesome terrain and a well-kept secret.........until now. I've been BMX/mountain biking in the area since '76, it's very impressive....if you can find it.
