| Trail Doctor XL compound question
Did a search and didn't come up with anything. The question is this: Does anyone have any real world experience/data on the three compound options on the Trail Doctor XL's? I'm interested in getting a set but need to find more info before I get a set. I don't want to get all 3 compounds cause I'm not made of money. What compound is the original Trail Doctor? |

Super soft is the OG compound. I had a new set of the OG Trail doctors, after 10 batteries at moab they were really really showing wear. They were really really hooking up though to. I would definitly recommend them, best tires in the industry in my opinion. Super grippy...

Thanks Mnster, so the middle compound (super soft) of the XL's is the original compound? Just trying to clarify things. |

Thanks! How heavy is your rig? My scaler is a bit on the portly side. It's a little piggy. ...8lbs. |

Dean-O, I have two sets I can bring by the shop for you to check out. I have one set of the super soft, and a set of the ultra softs for you to compare. I should be home from Asia later this week. |

The little 1/12 scale cc-01 weighs in at 5 pounds 5 ounces (No wheel weight) The Real Bronco (XL's) Weighs 6 pounds and it's only half done not RTR yet. I imagine it getting very close to 8 pounds by the time I finish the rest of the steel accesories, cage and electronics. |

1 set is mounted but not glued on H1 rims, since I still need to paint the rims to match my 1:1

I've run the Just Soft and Super soft on my 2 rigs simultaneously and can't say I see a difference between them. Grip is very good on both. Wear does show quickly. The newer Super Softs show just as much wear as the older Just Softs. You can't go wrong with any of the compounds. [caveat: my experience is with the standard size, not the XL] edit: my rig probably weighs around 8lbs. havent weighed it yet but it feels really heavy and I have 3/4lb of lead weight in the alum beadlocks... Rig climed up this just fine: Last edited by pantablo; 03-17-2008 at 01:49 AM. |
