Default hpi tires vs. swamp dawgs

i'm getting some new tires off ebay and they are the same price. the swamps are medium and the hpi savage tires are stock off a savage. which ones would be better? i rock crawl 25%, crawl in the woods 25%, crawl on really hard clay type stuff 50%

which ones would be better?

thanks

The savage tires are softer and hook up better on almost all surfaces.

They do work pretty well, but they are short. They are the same OD as a stock clod tire.

According to Tower:

Savy tires- 5.9" OD
Stock Clod tire- 6.25" OD
Stock TLT tire- 3.5" OD

So, I guess the Savage tires are actually slightly smaller than Clod tires in stock form.

I siped the shorter tread out of the savage tires and they grip really well.

After reading all these different answers, I decided I would just go measure them on my own. I measured my Brand New, stock savy tires on stock rims, with stock foams, and stock CA glue.

sicj was the closest, with the measurements being 6.25" OD, by 3.25" wide. I'm guessing he got a slightly smaller OD from having slightly used/worn tires.
