| Need help picking beadlocks
From what reading I have been doing there are A LOT of different brand beadlocks out there. They all seem to do the same thing but I know there has to be some difference. Just like real 1:1 beadlocks. My stazworks look similar to a set from USA6X6 but I if you really know what you are looking at you can tell where the quality is and see that the stazworks are way better. So I am looking to find out what do I need to look for when finding beadlocks for my AX-10. Here is what all I have done to it now. Scorpion kit, Novak Rooster, 35T holme hobby 540 motor, RC4WD R2D2 tran, 225 servo, GC-2 chassis, panther cougar tires, MIP front axles and drivehshafts, STRC aluminum knuckls, C's, and rear lockouts, Losi shocks, and heavy duty beadlocks. I havent had any problems out of the stock beadlocks yet but I am upgrading everything else so I may as well upgrade the wheels too. Also I am running 7.5OZ of weight on each wheel. |

Eritex wheels are my first choice now.... The delrin holds up just as well as aluminum, but unlike aluminum beadlocks you do not need to Loctite your beadlock bolts.

Vanquish just launched the Dirty Harry Pro Comp Wheels and I personally think they have everything you would ever need in a comp wheel.

| Eritex rims are a high quality beadlock for a reasonable price. |

I have a set of Mayhem locks sitting in my mail box. Can't wait to get home and mount them on a set of Panthers.

I got Ertex comp heavies for the front, regular for the rear. They work fantastic and a decent price. |

Shop around for something you like the looks of and a price you can go for. Things to think about - do you want to be able to add weight later, is the rim made to add it using their product? Or, is the rim enough weight for what you want. Several MFGs make rims using their weights. Can you get different rings or would you even want them? What about offset - what do you want? There are a few mfgs that only make one style. Mayhems - I have them and like them, good quality.. several offsets available. Make sure you get the new style w/ the deeper groove. MSD - I'm ordering a set, but have seen them and like them as well. Little higher priced but good quality. CKRC - decent price, 1:1 look, seen them but don't have personal exp... Eritex, looks cool, higher than Mayhems & CKRC, don't know anyone with them... List could go on, but you get my point..... |

So basically it is just a matter of finding ones that look good. I dont mind spending the extra coin if it is something I will be better guality. I do want something that I can add weight too and be able to play around with different weights but i should be able to do that with all whels just by adding stick on weights. I am kind of leaning towards some Mayhem just because they offer different offsets.

OOPS, forgot this. I DO have some Eritex Dirty Dozens on my tuber. I don't like Delrin.... It strips out too easy, there are at least one hole on each rim that is stripped on these. Granted, they have been beaten to death. I'm the second owner of them too. I use the stick on wheel weights too and like it. |
