Default Berg vs AX10 wheels

Can anyone tell me how different the offset is on the Berg wheels vs. Axial Rocksters?

I could not tell you exactly as I don't have any more axial wheels but they seem almost identical. Its a great wheel for the $ if you ask me.

Stock Berg Wheels are the same offset as the Axial's. Which is why most sell the Berg wheels and opt for a narrower offset aftermarket wheel.

I have been buying up the Berg wheels and using them on my axials. Work great and never had any bead issues.

Hope this helps.

Default berg vs axial

These wheels are great for the AX 10 and Poulson axles. The only thing that needs a little work is the outside diameter of the beadlock. You need to shave off about .050 to .075 to make them work without a major headache putting the tires on. That's what I did anyway.

I bought a set of berg wheels when I bought my panthers. I am happy with them, but they are wider then what I thought. I ended up mounting my Badlands to them. Have yet to run that combo, but I might end up opting to trade them for another set of eight shooters. Not sure yet.

I'm running Berg wheels on the boy's Axial with no problems what so ever. Don't know about having to trim the ring down, I've had Panthers and Losi's both on them wheels with no issue with the ring. I never even mounted the Axial beadlocks that come with the kit. I sold them and went straight to the Berg wheels that I had.

I ran my stock Newage (Berg) wheels for months using three different types of tires. Never did any trimming, and they locked the tire beads tightly.

My only real complaint about them is the size of the hardware. The screws are relatively easy to strip the heads off of, so be careful with the tightening. Also, after a lot of rock-rash, many of the heads can become worn down, and impossible to remove via a hex tool.

Can the gold rings on the bergs be striped like axial rings?

Apparently they can be stripped with oven cleaner.

I just got a set of bergs for my ax10 and the aluminum hex on the ax10 seem to fit rather snug in the berg wheel. is that a common thing. All 4 felt about the same.

I run Axial and HPI metal hexes. I have had no problems with my berg wheels fitting and I have 3 sets.

Did you clamp the axial hexes down to the shaft?

yeh they are clamped down. the set screw is below the surface so its not hitting on it. Maybe I either got a tad bit bigger hexes or a tad bit smaller wheel hex opening. You know they probally do vary a couple of thousandths here and there so I went ahead and took them off and just barely rubbed the anodizing off on some sandpaper and they fit like butter now. thanks
