Default 24 Series Eight Ball rims fit 2.2 tires.

I noticed a set of these in the discount bin at my LHS. I compared them to a standard 2.2 truck rim and the Eight Ball rims were a little bigger in diameter, and are very narrow. So, for $7.99 I got a full set, brought them home and threw the Geolanders on them and they fit perfectly. I bolted them up to my TLT with no mods, but they do provide a really narrow track width.......only 8 1/2". They may work good with some wideners though.

thats a good deal. I was thinking the same thing but they look too blingy to me annd the narrow offset i didn't like. The hpi super wheels are pretty cool looking though and they come in a variety of colors including grey and black (my favorites).

I may dye them black. I think with some TTR wideners, you'd get around a 10" wide stance.

I have a set of the HPI rims too. I tried dyeing those black, but it looks like crap, time to sandbast them and re-dye.

To bad they can't be used during comps. Don't the rules state that it has to be a 2.2 rim and nothing else?

That's true, they probably would be illegal for comps. I suppose I could ask about them in the rules forum. I'm probably just going to use them on as a basher rim, with a set of Moabs.

Braceysdad, they did have the spinners in the bin too.

I thought it was the tires, not the rims... maybe? I'd have to re-read the rules but the ORCRC rules go by the tires, not the wheels. Any 2.2 tire.

So does that mean that you could run 2.2 wheels with Maxx size tires(it can be done)? Does this mean that ANY tire made to fit a 2.2 wheel is legal to run?

I don't see any rules that limit tires...

I kinda think TLT axles themselves will limit your tire size.

Depends on the tires I think... Hackster ran this combo for quite a while with pretty good results.

Narrowed Maxx wheels(3/4" wide overall I think) and just about 2.5" wide tires.

I think we've taken Benders thread way off topic now

last night during our fun crawl one of our guys whiped out his new tires which are giant tracs cut down to 2.2 rims and narrowed.they actually looked stock. and i have to say they worked great even in cold wheather. but he won't be able to run them due to conflicts with our rules.

I think the rule should be "Limited to 2.2 inch wheels or smaller and a maximum tire height of 5".

I think it would be cool if we could use these wheels in comps, I like how the O.D. is bigger, it'll help stiffen up sidewalls. What about putting a limit on tire size only...................say 5" max?

Here's a couple pics of them beside a standard uncut 2.2 RPM wheel.

we had a kid run a set of hpi 2.2 street/car rims during a comp. and he was told he could not use them after this comp.

the package says 2.2 on it witch confused some of us why he could'nt run them. they had about the same look as the set you show.

1/4" turns old into new! What? Just my 2 cents.
