| ??? Crawling Tires ???
Just wondered if it was a complete joke to try to use these as a crawling tire? Imex Step Dawgs... They are very soft. And I've had them laying around. They seem like such a departure from the norm. I know this is not what they are intended for but I'm just curious what you all thought. I was thinking that with some pins strategically removed perhaps they might be sort of like a mutant Pro-line Giant Trac. Flame away! |

Spoon, you fool! Nagh really, MudCow has used them on both his clod and his maxx and he really seems to like them. Gimbal has used them aswell but when I asked how he liked them he said he had already went back to the giant tracs. Either way, they may or may not fit your driving style and terrain so it can't hurt to try them out |

I would image with some creative trimming of the lugs those would work well.

I use them, sometimes. Sometimes they grab like no other, sometimes they stink, bad. Very terrain dependant. My alternatives are Giant Tracs, which always work well, and I used to use LSTs, but don't anymore. Sometimes I like using them in places they don't work well, for a challenge. I even have a video of me using the Step Dawgs. TSRCRC Stick Tease They're worth a shot none the less. |

Thanks for the info... It's like anything else I suppose. Mount'em up and go. The only way for me to find out.

Depends on the terrain you're on. They seem to work really well for canyon crawling, but usually not as well on rocks. Subject to the kind of surface roughness you're on..... Jay |

I have only 2 sets of tires. These two tires work on any surface. If one doesn't work the other will. Pro-Line Maxx Mashers and Pro-line Maxx Mulchers (Step-Pins). I have crawled side by side with the Imex step pins and the Pro-Lines work better. But the Imex work very well (probably the best Imex tire for crawling).
