| SNow tires for the '05/'06 Winter season...
What is everyone's choice of tire to run in the snow? Since snow running season is stating up in some parts of the country it'd be nice to gather people's ideas on what works, and what doesn't. Post up your ideas and pictures of what you have ran. Snow is fun! -Juggy running Giant-Tracs worked pretty well... -Bulu1 #3 chassis with Imex Swamp Dawgs... |

I don't have anything to compare them to, but my LST's floated pretty darn well over the snow.

I made some really wide tires out of 8 stock clod tires they work really good! If I had to do it again though I would have left more tread. The tire digs under hard acceleration. The snow prints are huge and I can drive right up most snow drifts. Here is a short video from last year. http://www.rcpics.net/img/66863 |

Do you guys change your setup at all for the snow? Faster motor? I'm thinking I may get around to making chains for my 2.2s, anyone make any wider 2.2 rims? |

I don't have "snow tires". That would mean I ran my R/C's in the snow. I learned a long time ago, water+electronics= spending more money on electronics. Hats off to anyone who has the balls to fry a bunch of esc's, servos, recievers, and batterys. |

Ynow on fullsize 4wds in the snow you use chains. Maybe you could put small chain on your Rcs. By the way i run all waterproof electronics in my T4 i still try not to get it wet. Crawlerkid |

I'm probably gonna run some jumbo swamp dawgs. I don't think narrowed kongs will float too well. I can't wait. I've got a box waiting to be filled with electronics.

I was thinking some of those Imex paddles, but maybe some swamp kongs would be better?

well, on my st lastyear, i ran cut pede tires ( cut into puller pattern) in the back, and ribs in the front, the key is to spray the whole truck down with wd40 for two main reasons it keeps the snow from building up on parts and tires, and it keeps things from rusting and waterproof a bit. but your fine if you baloon your reciever, get a waterproof esc, or epoxy the stock one, and plastidip the servos, you will be fine. |

I agree that the LST's a pretty good, especially in deep fluffy snow. They self clean well with a spin of the tires. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 10-28-2005 at 05:56 PM. | |

here is my clod with a ESP plow, the jugg tires worked ok, i have since added some APM clod buster snow chains, so ill see how it does this year. i know for 1:1 trucks a tall narrow tire works best in the snow. not sure about rc though |

thats friggin bad! after switching my super to a 2.2 i have 4 channels left over on my radio. plow up/down,plow side to side angle, plow tilt angle ,and the all important winch. hmmm i would be able to sit in the garage and drink while plowing the driveway! i may have to ditch the crawler chassis and build a heavy, multi servo mounting chassis[ i wish i were grizz right now].
