Default narrowed kongs, ideas please

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...e/f1711bab.jpg

off chance that link works, thats what i've done so far.

theres about 3/4 to 1 inch width been removed.
i've left the gap between the ridges to help the tire conform inwards.
i'm gonna use foams, but cut in to this star type pattern i see people are using.

now, heres where i need advice from the more experienced of u.
i think i need to remove some of the ridges. unfortunaly, i have no idea as to what will work best. my first (& probably totally wrong) thoughts were to remove every other ridge completly, but form alternate side of the grove.

all ideas & comments would be great, appart from 'throw those in the bin, they suck for crawling' lol, as i want to get these finished before the rest of my new crawler turns up.

the type of crawling i do is for fun, not competion. also, it's mostly in the forest, not on nice big dry rocks as its always raining here in the uk!

thanks for the help guys.

Here ya go. I'll mention this though, by searching you will find many different tread patterns on Kongs.

Kongs SUCK for crawling........period,end of story!

I tried SEVERAL different patterns in mine and they never really CAME ALIVE. I'll post this picture again. It's the BEST mod I've ever made to my Kongs, now they crawl worth a damn. Cut the Kong tread off and throw it away, get a few pairs of LST tires and glue that tread in the place of the Kong tread. Now you have 8 1/2" tall LST tires that work AWESOME!

i know this, well, from what everyones wrote on here i guess it must be true.
problem is i've run out of cash for my crawler, so need to use what i've got.

i read about how u did those tires (was it u?) & they do look good. maybe a project for the future, not sure its such a good idea for my first go at narrowing tires though.

i also read up about narrowing kongs before i posted. (u would not believe how many threads have the word KONG in it ) just wondered if anyone had any ideas for my specific tires with what i'd done so far.

oh, thanks for sorting the picture EeePee.
