Default Chisel vs. Hammer?

Which Proline tire is best for comps?

The 2.2 G8 Chisel or Hammer?

Also, is the G8 Compound as soft as M3?

G8 is softer. Hammers are to short. Chisel's suck.

the chisels are MUCH softer then the hammers. i just switched from the hammers to chisels. the size difference is amazing. i will have to get a new body just to make the chisels fit. so far the chisels seem to hook up better then the hammers, but i've still not had enough trail time to wear the shiney coating off the whole tire.

the hammers showed a lot of wear after just a few uses, i'm expecting the same with the chisels.

the one drawback of the chisels is that they will flat spot horribly. i first thought it was just from being crammed in the package, but its worse after install. you will need to store your crawler on something with the tires hanging or it will be like driving on square tires.

Well, what about the Hot Bodies tire? What's it called
Panther?

I have M2 Moabs now, I want a taller softer tire.

HB Rovers. I switched out my Hammers for a set of Rovers and the difference is amazing.

My suggestion is to go to check what the local drivers are running at the local comp locations.

This works out for me to give advice, since I'm about 45 minutes away from you.

Hammers: They're smaller than the Moabs, and while they hook up nicely, are just too small.

Chisels: I really don't like these tires. For a slow crawl, they're fine, but if you need any wheel speed, the tall lug seems to cause your crawler to hop, thus losing traction.

Panther Cougar: These work great at the Yorkville, OH & Ohiopyle, PA comp sites, but don't seem to do very well at The Crawl Space indoor location. They're also a bit shorter than other tires available.

Panther Leopards: These seem to get great traction at all 3 comp locations, but the foam setup is a bit tricky.

HB Rovers: Since switching from the Panther Cougars to these, I haven't looked back. Then once I went to the Nova's Ark 2-stage foams, they just plain work. They get incredible traction at both outdoor locations and hookup as well as anything on the market at The Crawl Space.

Losi Comp Claws: I've not run these, but they also seen to do well at all 3 locations. I'm not sure what's the hot ticket for foams, though, with them.

HB Rovers or Panther Leopards. Only two tires I would use. Until the Sedonas come out
