Default Hot weather tires

Here in Malaysia, it's either pouring down buckets or 104 degrees Fahrenheit, so we mostly crawl in the blistering heat.

I have a set of HB white Rovers that work okay. They don't wear exceptionally fast or anything. Would going to a blue compound help in this heat?

I'm curious because in racing (both offroad and on asphalt), the general rule of thumb is softer compounds for cold weather and harder for hot. I'm wondering if the same thing applies to crawling.

IMO i dont think it helps. either way, you still need tons of traction to pull through, but i think its a general rule of thumb so you dont have to change your whole setup. all you do is just change your tires to compensate for the temps.

i mean, if the whites are working for you, then i would stay with them unless your feeling alittle curious about the blues

I really like the blue compund in the summer heat. They seem to grab and pull harder than the whites when it's hot out. Some people use a combination of whites and blues (front to rear) as well.

Try the Sedona's before you go with the Blues. Un siped their tread is a bit more stable than the Rover. I've crawled out in the HOT midwest summer with good traction rock and the Sedona's are a better tire for me.

Thanks, guys. I think I'll try some Sedonas for my 2nd rig and then blue Rovers when my white ones are more worn out.

I like that the Sedonas have bigger foams too.
