| 2.2 claw dawg
i searched for the info, but couldn't come up with anything. the question is this, how do the 2.2 claw dawgs perform? i am planning on a scale build using narrowed claw dawgs. it wont be an all out crawler, but i still want the best possible traction. i have thought about geolanders too but want something different. since i have never run imex tires, any input on the claw dawgs would be greatly appreciated.

I had them on my old stampede, and I liked them.. They dont do as good as the swampers, except on street. They are good for a scale project. I wouldnt take it and enter it into a comp and hoping to win, but it depends.

They come stock on my PTI. I ran 'em for awhile and was kinda surprised at how well they did (mounted backwards, anyway) on dry rocks. They were worthless on any damp surface. And they don't even come close to the traction of Moabs. And the fact that they're an inch shorter didn't help either. Like everyone says, the rubber is too hard. It's about twice as hard as my Moabs I think. But on a narrowed rim, they'd look awesome for a scale tire. They could be improved by removing some lugs I'm sure, but I don't think many fullsize rigs run cut Baja Claws, do they? I assume you've pondered using Nylint wheels/tires? Those look great for realism. But I'm willing to bet the 1/6th is too big and the 1/18th are too small. |

thanks for the input. yes, nylints are too big/small. i'm looking for something around 4 inches tall. i guess that leaves me with the geo's, claw dawgs and the proline dirt hawg or dirt works. the latter two don't thrill me as far as looks.:?

If you narrow one block width out of Dirt Hawgs, they look like miniature BFG mud terrain t/a's. Sort of.
