Default 2.2 aluminum wheels??

I know there are expensive ones, that are 50 a pair...

But what about those 2.2 aluminum beadlock wheels on ebay that are like 55 bucks for 4.

Who has experience with which brands?

There's been a lot of people posting (especially recently) on those wheels, they work fine. Injora & RC Lions are tested and true... and there's plenty more out there.

Where do you find those wheels?

Amazon and fleaBay... or Banggood, GearBest, AliExpress... loads of places.

Ideally, look for a seller that ships from the USA - otherwise it may take a few weeks or so for them to arrive...

And, check the wheel width. A lot of the Chinese 2.2 beadlock are 25mm (approx. 1" width). Just so you don't have a surprise when they arrive. Plenty of choices in 40mm width (approx 1.5" wide) available. But then maybe you're looking for the 25mm width?

I've got a few 1.9 and 2.2 from China and usually quality is pretty good for the price. A lot of the beadlock screws are crap so I've been replacing them when I assemble the rims and tires just so no problems down the road.

Are you making a monster truck?

1.9" wheels will suit an SCX10 much better than 2.2" wheels.

Just an opinion... they are more "scale-appearing" - that's why they all come with 1.9" wheels.

2.2" wheels on an SCX10 is like putting 22" wheels on a 1:1 truck... ends up looking like a mall-crawler.

But, if you're making some sort of SCX10-based beast of a thing, no worries!

I picked up a set of 2.2 wheels on Ebay for my Bomber. They were about $65, but I liked the fact that they weren't a clone of somebody else's design, plus I just like the 10-holer style wheel (well, 9 holer in this case). The quality of these wheels seems very good, and I'm quite happy with them.

Stock ESC should be fine with 45t motor. However you would need to gear down to accommodate the larger wheels and tires to prevent overheating your motor .

Wow I love those wheels! I'm a huge fan of the Outlaw or hole style of wheels. Do you have a link to those?

Wouldnt the 45t motor with more torque work or does it still need geared down.

The auction I bought them from is gone, but here's an alternate. You might find them cheaper (I paid $61 I believe) on another auction. I also found them on Aliexpress if memory serves me.

The closest comparison I can come up with is that they somewhat resemble Axial's classic plastic beadlocks - without the stripped wheel hex problem!

Exactly. I love the styling of Axial's beadlocks, mainly because I love the old Mickey Thompson wheels that those were based on.
