| What adaptor for Moab XL and narrow beadlock on TXT ?
I think to purchase a set of Moab XL with Cheyenne narrow beadlock for my TXT but I am not sure what adaptor to buy with them : - delrin adaptor from Bender - alu adaptor and widener from rc4wd - or perhaps another one I don't know OR OR ???? I made this choice of wheels because I think it is a good choice without modify anything. Just some works on the foams. PS: I am not sure even if I read a lot of posts on this subject |

You will need to narrow your rims down to about 2" wide with my adapters. It's a mod that helps narrow the contact patch of the tire, and allows the wheels to clear the lower links while steering.

Benders, they have to be lighter than the aluminum ones pictured. I have a set of Benders adapters and they fit the TXT perfect with Inet wheel wideners. (1.5", 3/4" per side)

And this assembly (bender's adapters and 2" rims) is better than stock narrow beadlock with rc4wd's adapters ? Even if "track wide" with Bender (not sure of translation) is a little smaller ? Sorry for all these questions, but I would purchase the right parts and naturally have a good crawler. ;)

Narrowed wheels will help the performance of your rig. Wideners put more stress on your axle housings and steering servos. It can help in off camber situations, but hurt in narrow tight squeezes. So it's really personal preference.

The bottom picture is Dirk's rig. It has commandos narrowed the same width using Bender's 23mm Clod adaptes, moab XLs, narrowed foam in a star pattern using clod outter shafts.

Yes, They are the Cheyenne Beadlock, but Commando just stuck with the "beadlock" wheel from Pro-line. If you look at the web site, the commandos are the full width bead locks, and the Cheyennes are the lame attempt at narrowed bead locks. All the pictures above are Pro-line's narrow beadlocks (Cheyenne) that have been narrowed to just under 2". Last edited by cheapjeep2; 05-04-2006 at 09:52 AM.

Benlatak the rig in the pic you posted has 2.2 Moabs, on slightly narrowed wheels. Here's a pic of a cut Cheyenne wheel next to an uncut standard 40 Series wheel. |
