Default Narrowed 2.2 WK's

Thought this might be helpful for some...

Well folks, I modded a set of BFG Slash tires awhile back to be 2.2's all the way and the black WK rims just looked awesome inside the BFG's. Just wasn't happy with how wide they were and the depth seemed a little deeper than I like, so I got the wild idea of narrowing them.
I searched like crazy to find out if someone else had already "invented the wheel", but to no avail.

So I first cut off the rear bead, split it and re-glued back inside the wheel to create a new bead.

Then that wasn't enough, so I cut off the front bead just behind the inner bead ring. Then I made another cut with the remainder of the rim so there was only 3/16" remaining. There was a small amount of material left on the bead ring that I mostly removed.

This allowed the bead to slip back over the 3/16" area.

It measures about 1 3/8" wide now, perfect.

Here's a comparison between the different mods.

By no means is this the only way this can be done, it's just the way I did it to suit my taste.
