| Scale Class 1 tire foams?
what is everybody using? 4.19" im updating my wheel/tire package and wanting some better foams. ive got the stock RC4WD foams, and axial/proline flatiron memories, but both of those feel too floppy and completely compress down to the wheel weights. ive also got a set of the old CI 1.9 dual stage 4.25. but they are too big. the dark hard inner foam touches the treads and the soft outer is completely compressed. even just mounted on the wheel, not even on the truck yet. any suggestions? i typically like a soft foam setup, but the rc4wd and axial/proline memories are too soft and floppy. and the CI are too big/hard. tires are 4.19 and 4.13. most likely run the 4.13 |

I'm running the stock foams that came with the 1.55 pitbulls, no air holes on my 8lb Toyota. They seem to work just fine so far.

typically i always run the stock rc4wd foams too. but for some reason there way too floppy on this set. i think it might because im running less weight on the wheel so the foam isnt expanded/stretched as much which makes it softer |

Have your foams ever been wet Cory ? Standard foam and memory foam do not work the same once wet they start to break down and are no longer what they once were. It only takes once in a puddle and the degeneration process begins, especially with memory foams.

the foams i was testing were all brand new from the package. my previous setup were the stock rc4wd. and they were just a bit too soft and floopy, but close enough i delt with it. my new setup im trying to put together (all new wheels, tires, foams, and weight) i removed some weights. which essentially decreased my wheel diameter/inner foam diameter by 1/4" (1/8" per wheel side, ie the thickness of the stick on weights) i think that foam being expanded in the old setup made them just harder to make them usable. |
