Default TSS Stockerz and RC bros knuckle weights

I ordered some TSS 1.9 Stockerz from the scale shop and received them today.
Great service and shipping, thanks Corey.... ordered on Tuesday and got them today.

You're probably wondering what's up with the thread title???
RC Bros knuckle weights don't fit 1.9 wheels....except these TSS Stockerz. Granted, you have to modify the weights slightly, a wheel grinder works wonders. The other factor is, these are "XR modded" scx10 axles with XR10/Wraith knuckles. I hate rotating mass, so working at getting some other weight system to work with a 1.9 wheel was a challenge.

Here's what I started with

Got one mounted up and checked fitment....indeed too tight to rotate.

So I took the loaded weight system to the grinding wheel and started to take some off a little at a time and checking fitment as I went. Finally got one to spin freely. Repeated the process for the other side. Compared the weights and they were within 2 grams of each other...I can live with that. This is what it looks like loaded up and mounted. I might add that it took a 450 VP hub to work

I'm pretty happy with the outcome. I now have a nice knuckle weight system for a 1.9 class 2 rig and a killer scale wheel.

This is actually the second time I've done this...both times to a TSS Stockerz wheel, nothing else would work, although the only other wheels I had to try this mod on were VP wheels.

I really like these Stockerz

Yes, could you post some pix of the wheel weights. How did it work out with the VP wheels? I'm thinking of running knuckle weights with 1.9 OMF's???

I only have the VP knuckle weights on my XR10 with 2.2 wheels of course. The RCBROS weights work just fine with 2.2 wheels. I originally bought the weights for a Class 2 rig and was very disappointed in myself for not reading the fine print on RC Bros site.....(live and learn to read better).

I really wanted to get them to work on a 1.9 wheel....

I didn't try the OMF's....the only other wheels I had were a set of DH Procomps and another style (the name escapes me at the moment) but they didn't use a hub either. They are older wheels and I actually took a sanding drum to the inside of the wheel and got it to work...but I'm sure you don't want to do that to a couple of OMFs. The inner ring needs to be flush with the wheel or it won't work at all.

I'll take a few pics in the morning when I mount the rear wheels.

Some more pics of the "other wheel"

Picture of the inside of the first set of Stockerz where I took a dremel to the inside of the wheel instead of the knuckle weight
