| RC4WD New Comp Crawler Tire
Got home to a nice size box waiting for me, open it up to find the new RC4WD comp Tire's First thoughts were dam these tires are sticky as hell almost couldn't get the wrapper off LOL they are alittle narrower than the voodoo and a hair smaller as well, also the pins are very small like you would find on a off-road race tire. The rubber seems to be alittle stiffer than the voodoo too, but there dam sticky. They measure with the stock foams 5.5" tall maybe a hair more 1.5" wide but seem narrower lol I will do some testing on the POD pile over the next couple days and will report back what I find. The foams I will be starting out with are- Front- 5.5" CC with a cut down soft outer Rear- 6" CC with a cut down soft outer. Here are some picture's Last edited by chevotafun; 05-01-2015 at 08:31 AM. |

Ya those look "SLICK" it is so good to see something to compare to. Most run one type of this and that. I am glad to see more options on lots of different things but tires was one big one where there were not much to choose from. Not that I don't love my VooDoo's but only having a Boss Claw to compare to, well not much of a comparison. Good job RC4WD and congrats on the new tires Mikey can't wait to see them on Sunday.

Wonder how these will compare to the Voodoo's, good to see some competition thats for sure. I'm getting ready to buy some new tyres, so looking forward to seeing how these stand up. Wonder who will comp with them first? |

Just received mine today... Wow im stunned!!! So sticky.. Could not get them out of the package lol They really remind me of a narrow boss claw with grinded sides.. Next to a narrowed silver voodoo Next to a normal voodoo and a narrowed one |

I got the tires all mounted up last night and got acouple batteries put on them, first thought was the bead needs to have a deeper lip on them as the flange of the rim sticks up a bit from the tire. (Running Glue on) After driving them for a bit I came to the conclusion that these tires need to be broken in like the Khoas tires did, but with that said I pulled all the same lines I pull with the VooDoo's maybe not as easy but I think with some time on these tire they will get better. I want to cut a pattern into the tire but I will wait till after this weekends comp to see how they work first before doing that, maybe see how testing goes tonight lol I think with a pattern cut will help these tire's with the lugs being so close together, but time will tell. You do notice the height difference between the 2 tire's (VooDoo/RC4WD) when driving, but wasn't a issue in the end performance. All in All so far these tire seem to perform well, just need to get some more wheel time on them. As stated above its nice to have options in a crawler tire finally.
