Default cutting colsed cell C.I. foams?

C.I. has been out of the narrow 6" and 5.5" closed cell inners for awhile now. i was sent a email saying that they would be back on c.i.'s web site in 1 day but that was 10days ago. unless i just cant find them on the site, there still not available. ive sent plenty of emails since, but i dont get any response now. this is also my 1st time buying foams from c.i. so i really dont know where everything is on there site or what to expect as far as service and wait times for out of stock foams. so my question is, has anyone tried cutting the standard width inners to narrow them and how hard is it to get all 4 the same?

These?? I didn't see anything that specified "narrow" on the inner foams.

5.5 Double Deuce Inner Foam Pair (2)

6.0 Double Deuce Inner Foam Pair (2)

There's inner/outer sets in narrow.

If you are using Vanquish Products or other brand .7" wide wheels, please buy the narrow foams.
All other wheel sizes (1" - 1.50") use the standard width.

If you have a drill or drill press and a 2" hole saw it's fairly easy. Chuck hole saw in drill press, turn on, razor blade for narrowing, grinder with a 60grit or so flap disc works well for reducing the diameter.

It may be the only way to get them, a little expensive when you just need the inner foams.

Sharp long razer blade works. Set height or razer and slide foam on twisting it and walls.

This is brilliant. I actually want to make my inners wider using tuning disks, and was going to do something similar, but use a dremal cutoff wheel chucked in the press and slide the inner into it, instead of putting the inner over the hole saw. I just wasn't sure if the cutoff wheel would be thick enough.
