Default chinese wheels with proline tires ?

Ordered a set of those cheap Chinese wheels to get my latest project going for now and was wondering how the Proline Hyrax would mount on them ? I just mounted a set on some Vanquish LH Comp wheels and they did OK, I think the bead of the Hryax is not as big as the XL TSL Swampers

If Chinese wheels equal Boom Racing and Xtra Speed, I've had good experience with them together with proline, yes. They come in many different forms, so difficulty of mounting depends on which ones you get. It's not like all wheels made in China are the same.. Boom racing has a rather impressive lineup.

To be honest, these were so easy to mount that the tire bead literally fell into place. http://www.boomracingrc.com/evo-19-h...2-black-113748

I have tried a few different sets of wheels and I think the Chinese knockoffs are very easy to mount any tire I have put in them so far

To be honest, I don't think it's right nor nice to talk about "China wheels" as if it's something wrong with them, or they're all the same or as if the Chinese don't know how to produce their stuff. I'm sure many "America wheels" are produced by Chinese people also. I know cheap Chinese brands have horrible quality control, but so does rc4wd. Aren't almost all RC related products in existence produced in China? Probably not far from it..

And another thing, it's thanks to certain cheap Chinese brands that I can get spare parts and hop-ups for my Tamiya cars (both old and new), because nobody else supports them still.

I don't know if you recall but about a year ago there was a rather long thread that got moved. Lots of comments(both ways) about people using the Chinese clones of a vendors product. Once it moved it faded away.

I use them, and have had zero issues, and do not feel one bit of shame in using them. Hell for the $90.00 I got 8 wheels, 8 hubs and hardware, domestic made wheels would have cost me 270 for the same thing.

I have/utilize these low buck chinese alloy wheels on both my SCX-10 (1.9's) and Wraith (2.2's).

Purchased them on ebay, shipped directly outta china.
Their purchase cost cannot be beat by any other distributor here in the USA.
And their quality is as good as many other alloy wheels costing twice as much.
No, they're not the RC4WD offered chinese mfgr'd wheels nor share a compatibility.

Instead... They share in the same compatibility as do Vanquish methods and other higher end SLW type wheels.

RC4WD uses their own specs... and so usually only fit acceptably using their tires and SLW hubs sold.
And so I won't purchase RC4WD wheels or tires.
As compatibility with Vanquish and other distributors sharing a similar bolt pattern is not the same.

RC4WD SLW hubs and Vanquish SLW hubs are not compatible.

Great wheels IMO... especially when considering their purchase cost.
My 2.2 PL TSL's and 1.9 Axial Treps installed without issue...
and create a very good ( no leak ) seal at the rim to tire bead(s).

Being they are the SLW hub design makes them even better IMO.
Compatible with Vanquish SLW hubs... at least for bolt-pattern alignment.

But unlike the Vanquish SLW hubs...
these chinese SLW hubs utilize 3mm screws for install, rather then using 4-40 screws.

I like that better because I prefer sticking with using all metric...
since all the other hardware on my crawler's are fully metric.
Bothers me that Vanquish uses 4-40 for installing on a metric RC.

Just because these chinese reproductions are cheap to purchase... one shouldn't assume they're crap.
Way better then any RC4WD wheels offered and are on par with alloy wheels costing near double their cost.

Here a few pics of my chinese (ebay) wheels installed...

SCX-10 1.9's with Treps...

1/6 custom Wraith with 2.2 PL TSL XL's...

Below: The SLW wheel on the left uses metric 3 mm screws to secure the wheels to the SLW hubs.
The wheel on the right utilizes Locked Up RC full floating SLW hubs for the trailer and need use the 4-40 screws to mount the wheels to those.

Left = 2.2 PL TSL XL Right = 2.2 PL TSL SX
so they are not equally the same tire height.

IMO most alloy RC wheel cost more then they should.
And since I'm on a fixed income... I'd still be sporting plastic wheels if these weren't available.

'cuz I'm not paying ridiculous prices for an RC alloy wheel I will likely ruin.

btw I purchased 8 individual 2.2 alloy wheels for less then I'd pay for 4 of the commonly US distributed alloy wheels.
If mfgr'd in the US that's understandably acceptable. But if they're chinese mfgr'd and simply distributed here...
the distributor's excessive mark up pricing is ridiculous IMO.

You need to look for them on eBay, search "1.9 aluminum wheels" and then you'll have several options
