| Beadlock wheels with removable centers???
Does anyone make a beadlock wheel, 2.2 or perhaps even more scaled to what I need, a 2.8, where you can remove the centers and bolt/screw in a different one? I need to make some custom dually wheels for my next build. Is there anything out there like this? If so, got pics??? Plastic is fine as well.

What you want is actually rely common in the comp world. Dluxfab.com can do them, 5thdimension as well. If you want 2.6 crushlocks makes exactly what you want. These are set up to simply smash the bead to the center but they have beadlock options too. |

Does anybody make an insert to connect 2 SLW compatible wheels? That would be ideal.

I'm going to try and stamp my own centers, I can see it in my head, just need the rim section. PVC or ABS pipe for a mock up should probably be my first step, but why walk if I can run, right? I could easily make adapters for 2 hubs, so I could run a regular inner wheel and fab the outers, who would know!! Summit is the donor vehicle, so as long as nobody looks up her skirt, it should look the part. Purpose build. I'm shooting for the F-550 / RAM 550 look.

Read the Drill press VP wheels thread. Super simple to punch the center out of some old stock axial beadlocks and make them into custom wheels.

That gives me an idea. The rear hubs for Yeti wheels are pretty wide. If you take those rear Yeti hubs, drill the 6 mounting holes all the way through with a large enough diameter to pass a 4/40 screw, then put a normal SLW hub onto the axle, put on the first wheel, put on that Yeti hub, then the 2nd wheel, then use 6 long 4/40 screws to go through the outer wheel, through the Yeti hub, through the inner wheel and into the SLW hub connected to the axle. I think that would work great! |
