Not new but not super common, those are PBX A/T hardcore scale tires, I have a set and they pretty good. They come in a nice smallish size (4"), there arent many tires in that size. https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/pbtpb9010nk.htm |

That's weird, cuz i was going back and forth with whoever running the page. They said they're new. I was guessing which ones, then some dude comes in with this circled pic, PT comes back with a comment, winner winner. So I'm confused....lol. My bad if i posted this up.

Based on the 3.5" military tire its going to be a 1.55 PBX. I think the smallest PBX is 1.9 and a good bit bigger than the military one. Anyway, cool, always love new tires.

Good catch, those Temco military tires are 3.45". The PBX's look like they must be very close to that size. The original PBX's are 4"

I would be hesitant to be one of the first to use that tire. The 1.9 has almost no tread depth to it, yet it is a surprisingly grippy tire in a variety of terrain. I really like it on my d90. The 2.2 has the exact tread depth and spacing as the 1.9, also is very narrow, it however does not have any traction. I desperately wanted to love it, but just cant seem to find that love affair. Based on the two experience it doesnt seem like there was a lot of thought put into redesigning the larger tire to optimize performance. My impression was the 2.2 was just a scaled up version. I don't think this approach really worked. Hopefully the 1.55 size works out, as it is a good looking tire. |
