Default Rod end question

I was wondering if the holes through rod ends are straight through or if they are molded to contour to the shape of the ball inserts? I can't tell by looking.

I was considering trying to drill through a section of delrin rod and inserting a ball in it but don't know if it would say in or not.

They are molded to the shape of the ball insert. That's why they "snap" into place when inserting them. If you had a straight hole, it would fall off since there is nothing to hold it onto the ball.
