Re: Lets see your handmade tools! Could the tool be an electronics project? I just built a "device" that allows me to cycle electronic fuel injectors for a 1 or 5 second pulse, or with the flip of a switch it can cycle as long as I push the button. |

The wider plate towards the top of the picture has slotted holes to acomidate 1/16"-1/4" rod. I plan on making a variety of rollers or handles based on what I need bent in the future. Sent from my iPhone using autocorrect |
Re: Lets see your handmade tools! broke down and made a bender today. had all of the materials in the shop so why not. it's not a very flashy unit, but i won't have to make it again. used 5/8" steel plate for the base, 3/8" hardware for the bending pins (tapping that plate was a pain). some random stock for the arm, and some 5/8" aluminum rod around the main bolt as a spacer. forgive the crap welds on the arm pin, i haven't touched a welder in years, and stacking old rod and galvanized on top of that is just a mess. and the lock washer is just there for moral support, couldn't find anymore normal washers in my bolt bucket. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps341185c2.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps44ec5daa.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps75cf4f63.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5ce5861f.jpg this is 3/16" tubing, i usually fill tube with packed salt to help with support, this was done empty, so not bad for me. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps76ca1dff.jpg |

Re: Lets see your handmade tools! A simple tool to clean up revo or similar style rodends. I cut four grooves along the length of a revo ball end and simply screwed it to a piece of aluminum pipe. Re: Lets see your handmade tools! Wife got me a new BBQ for our new place and I decided to buy some steaks to do on the grill. Realized I didn't have a tenderizer... After work, spent a few minutes to write a program on the lathe and 20-30 mins on the Bridgeport spent squaring up the stock and figuring out the grooves, drill and tap the bottom an viola! Nice weight to it, just under 2" square on the face. Other side is flat. Handle could be a little longer and larger diameter but it works. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/membe...3341-44659.jpg |
