Looking for a power screwdriver Something small and light if possible. Never had one before. I figure it'll make the disassembly and assembly process a lot faster. Not for tightening anything down of Course I don't need to strip everything. I figure bunch you use them. Which do you use? Been having a hard time finding a 2 mm or 2.5 mm that will fit one of these as well. thank you"thumbsup" |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I really like the Gyro by black and decker. We have a few electric screwdrivers around the shop and it's my favorite. If you need an assortment of bits, Wiha makes high quality 1/4" drive inserts. |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver found the driver. didnt find the bits yet thanks |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver for 21 bucks ill try the gyro. best price i found here: Black and Decker 4 V Max Gyro |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver where did you find your bit set ? |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I bought my bits from McMaster, they are cheap and good quality. Even better is that they are sold individually so you only buy the ones you want. McMaster-Carr Select hex and then the "Power" bits top left are the ones I like. |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I also prefer the lower voltage the black and decker stuff. Nothing gets stripped as they're just weak enough and just strong enough. For the 1/4" hex power tool tips I picked up a couple of these: FT 8-Piece 1/4" Hex Driver Set: Team Associated - Champions By Design - Nitro and Electric RC Cars |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver thanks never thought of that |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver This started as a power drill thread, but it has a lot of power driver comments too: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/tools...hex-chuck.html |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver got this one.. Black and Decker 4 V Max Gyro been great. plenty power full. used the hell out out of it so far. still have not charged it. looking for more bits.. |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I know this thing is bottom of the barrel, but it is only 9 bucks. I picked one up for the RC tool box. It gets beat up, thrown around out in the field, dropped in the sand. If it breaks in a year, I don't care, I'll try to fix it myself. "thumbsup" It works great for removing and setting screws on my rc rigs. 4.8 Volt 1/4 in. Cordless Screwdriver Kit |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver Quite possibly the best tool I've ever owned: http://www.lowes.com/pd_485149-70-DC...uctId=50029408 With these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXAYPL&P=7 With the adjustable torque clutch and variable speed, you can use it both ways without stripping plastic. |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver Wiha 79495 31 Piece Xlselector Bit Set with Slotted Phillips Torx Hex Bits | eBay good German made bits for a descent price |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver Just picked up one of these: Sears.com And, so far, I am happy with it. Not as small as some of the ones listed above, but not much bigger than the Ryobi Tek4 driver. This is small enough for me to throw in my tool bag to take to comps or to toss around the workbench. It's got a chuck (so you can use multiple sized bits, not just the 1/4" hex ones) and adjustable clutch to prevent stripping, as well as two speeds and a LED light. For a couple bucks more than the Ryobi and the BD Gyro, I figured the extra features were well worth it. My plan is to get a set of driver blades that I can chuck into it, but until then, all my existing stuff works for it. |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I love my Milwaukee with adjustable torque settings |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver would be nice to have a chuck |
Re: Looking for a power screwdriver I have been using the Ryobi TEK4 power screwdriver with a set of the integy metric driver bits. This combo has been a godsend for working on beadlock wheels. No adjustable chuck, but you will probably have to buy a drill type unit for that. I have used it for installing receptacles/switches in junction boxes around the house as well and it really saves your hands. |
