my drill press, band saw, and sander are in my shop, the shop is insulated... but no heat, and some moisture gets in.. .i havent used my drill press for a couple weeks, and i went to use it today, and the table has a light coating of rust... i do keep my equipment covered... but is there an oil i should but on the exposed metal, or can i spray paint it? |

I use red ATF to cover exposed metal surfaces. It has an additive that allows the fluid to cling and stay put. I've had engine blocks stored for 4 years in a storage locker with no rust.

Use some WD-40 and scotch brite to remove the surface rust. I spray WD on the inside of my Kitamura everyday when I wash it out. No rust on the table or fixtures i sometimes leave in the machine . |
