Put a solder iron on the screw for a few seconds and try, if it doesn't budge...more heat!

Blue shouldn't do that.

You only need a pinpoint amount of Loctite, not 100% thread coverage!

I second spending some $$$ on some *GOOD* allen wrenches! You don't even need a full set just get 2 or 3 in each size you use and when it starts to look like it is wearing out, toss it out! I use a soldering iron to release threadlocker. I hold the iron on the set-screw for about a minute or two and promptly begin to unscrew. If the thread-lock feels like it is setting up I just grab the iron and repeat heating and unscrewing till it is out. Better to take a few extra minutes heating and unscrewing than just trying to do it all in one shot and then it all stripping your screw out. No one likes driling set screws out |

Try Loctite 222 low strength, its for smaller screws and will still hold well and is much easier to remove the screws But a moderate amount heat may be necessary Attachment 319608 Last edited by Tom G; 08-29-2016 at 04:49 PM. |
