Default Anybody use this Tekno multi tool?

So I decided to get a pivot ball tool, and came across this. I don't have shock pliers either so it seemed a good choice, if they/it work(s). Any personal experience? Apparently you can go balls out OR balls in, so that's a plus.

Awesome tool I use mine all the time. The quality is top notch as is the norm for Tekno gear, and the pivot ball installation and removal feature is super convenient. My previous Associated shock pliers have been replaced by this tool, it’s worth every cent.

Its the best multi tool, I have two and love them. I use the 4.0 shock shaft hole to hold links while threading rod ends on.

what would you use those hex pliers for? Never had an issue removing one.

I was trying to figure that out as well.

I would have suggested the Protek shock pliers.

I was trying to figure that out too...? Not the biggest selling point of the tool...

Main attraction was the pivot ball part.

The Protek has the pivot ball tool as well as larger places to hold shock bodies.

The hexes in this tool might be able to do socks with hexes on them, like Traxxas shocks, but those are few and far between.

Started off with losi shock pliers and all was well in the world. Then someone had these protek pliers and I realized I'd wasted money on the losi tool. One of the few tools that really do make life easier. The smaller hex will grab a 12mm shock body to thread the cap on nicely without damaging the body. I've thought about having a buddy 3d print jaw inserts for the larger hex for the same purpose.

Comprende. May have to take my own suggestion and try both. Too many tools is as preposterous as too many RCs, yeah?

Which brands have a 12mm hex on the shocks? I only remember Traxxas shocks having those.

Yeah you can never have too man. And, if you're like me, you'll lose the shock pliers every once in a while anyway until you find it again.

No idea, I grab the body not the hex if there is oil on there so I can't get a grip.

I can officially now say I agree with Davey and 84yoda, this tool works very well and was definitely worth the price!

Although probably for other things it helps with shock caps. Tekno's plastic caps are such a PIA to start threading on that most guys pinch them a bit. LIttle squeeze opens then up and makes starting them easier.

Sounds like a design flaw...

I use ProTek RC Shock pliers as well, and always wondered what the Tekno would give me that the ProTek doesn't. I guess it'd be good for Tekno specific stuff on Tekno kits? (Of which I have 1 - EB410). I haven't built my EB410 yet, so I don't know if I'd need this. In fact, not sure I want to keep my EB410 since I'll never have time for track anyway. If I could trade it for a SC410.3 I probably would.

Yeah, I'd already hit the order button for the Tekno tool when Jato apprised me of the ProTek. I'll probably get one of them too. It does seem to have some Tekno-specific features that weren't otherwise user intuitive.

410 looks ok, but their instruction manuals seem lacking...kinda turned me off of them before even getting one. I like to read ahead after doing Tamiya kits ;)
