Re: Workbench/work area

Just a run of the mill workbench from HD I think, bought it a couple years ago. I like that I can sit or stand and be comfortable at it. 11 days outta 10 its if far worse condition clutter wise but it does what I need it to. But yes, good lighting is a must.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...21d31bd813.jpg

Some Great rooms you all have. I need to get my act back together, and x3 my small collection of rigs.

Here's the work bench I was able to fit into an opening in my basement. I screwed some spare 2x4's together that were laying around and screwed them to the top shelf. Keeps the RC's from flat spotting the tires. Also, I have the shop rags hanging over the light to prevent migraines from having the LED shining in my face when I'm working.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bc13ed4658.jpg

I mean, this is the part where the rigs get built/worked-on. The tools take up waaaaaayyyy more space.

Nice space DrIsotope!

A few weeks ago I updated my workbench. Added a 2nd desk, shelf for rigs/transmitters and a parts wall for easy access rather than digging thru drawers trying to find that one pinion. The main desk has been set up for chassis work and the 2nd has been set up for bodywork/paint prep. Eventually I’ll add more shelfs as my other rigs are all on the floor underneath the desk stacked on top of each other lol.

Re: Workbench/work area

A couple years ago, when Best Buy had it as their "Deal of the Day" (ie. $199, regularly $449), I bought an Arozzi Arena Computer Gaming Desk, intending on actually using it as a gaming desk. Move forward two years, I'm in the early stages of leaving my wife, and moving to another state. While going through my/our Public Storage, I came across the still-in-the-box Arozzi...and, since I was taking a carload of stuff to where I'm moving, I decided to include the Arozzi in this 'load'.

Upon arriving, an idea 'hit' me...I simultaneously decided to continue using the computer desk I was already using as a computer desk (as it's slightly smaller then the Arozzi), and to put the Arozzi together as my new "RC workstation". At 5' 3" x 2' 7.5", it's plenty big to hold two kits being simultaneously worked on, plus room for tools, light, and other things. Even better, while the 'topper ' is designed to be a gigantic mousepad, turning it upside-down turned it into a gigantic pit mat.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...88620f73c8.jpg

I moved to a new apartment last fall and my new mancave is about half of the old one.
This one mesures 2.25x2.25m (7.4x7.4ft) with a angled roof which steals a lot of space.
Door in the center on one wall and a window at center at the other side ment I had to put my stuff on the other walls.

An old kitchen bench top cut down and 2x Ikea Alex drawers is all I needed to make a work bench.
Also made so I can have dual work space if needed.
Right corner is my charging spot, tools at the same side and more tools in between the tool storage units or in a couple of drawers.

Other side is packed

The black shelf rack is becoming my scale garage at the top two shelves.
About finished with the first one

This was my 4’x4’ “shop” for a couple years

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c37812e7bc.jpg

But I finally moved out of an apartment and into a house. And while the 1 car garage doesn’t really have enough room for rc stuff, I was able to barge in and occupy half of my wife’s office [emoji23]

Moved in March, and am just now starting to get the hobby bench situated, but still a long ways to go.

It seems scrolling through this thread that you guys have a lot of professional RC workbenches & profesional builders, etc.

I on the other hand have never had a RC until a few months ago, i had zero RC tools or parts, one by one this RC broke all kind of parts, entirely my fault, so i keep building this temporary work area for my only RC

and tatatataaaaaa see my makeshift worktable & area, it's not much but my son is happy with this RChttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c21c8884a6.jpg

^^^ Looks like good lighting and plenty of room to work and move around.. That's all you need. I like my dedicated workroom but sometimes it's too small.

I took my holiday break and moved my hobby room to the bigger part of my basement, kinda outgrew the other area. Still have a bunch to do but it's mostly done, didn't move my bench, still gonna fab and build in the other area.

I too like @kinser^^^ spent time this holiday weekend cleaning, building and rearranging the hobby room. (By the way @kinser, nice collection of rigs and nice space to work on them!)

I built some cheap and easy 2x4 racks to hold the rigs that have spilled out of the hobby room and into other areas of the basement. Now all of my rigs have a home and spot in the hobby room.

Shop tour pics below from left to right. (Vertical pics didn't want to display the right way. Sorry!)

@B-MOW71 Nice collection and setup you got there as well! I've got lots of little things to do yet but the major part is done, basically personlization to do now and some more organizing.

Nice setup! Clean and neat and clutter free! Looks like a great place to do some tiny wrenching!:)
