Durafix is great for filling holes...............sucks for holding stuff together.

Harris Al-Cor, although difficult to work with (as with any al brazing), it will hold.

great on holes after a sand back but it ok on light duty holding. i brazzed 2 bits of aluminium angle to make a |___| shape. what i did was i beveled the 2 peices to to get more surface area to hold.i heated it up and ran the rod in the gap. got full penetration. its stengh was great. i tryed to snap it and it bent the aluminium then the started to crack. i wouldnt use it on a tuber. just tig weld it

Your first post says that your purchased the kit........

there are a few products out that will braze aluminum, but they only stick to the exterior of the aluminum and into the exterior pours, none of them actually become part of the aluminum unless it is tig welded, mig welded and the elec ark melts the rod/wire into both pieces and cuases a united bond, i have used a few aluminum "solders" or brazers, but if you dont follow the instructions word for word, they dont work, stainless steel brushes only !! the MATERIAL needs to be hot enough to melt the rod, not the flame, and you really need some acid to clean the areas of weld before brazing.....
