I tried the yellow can of easy off and it seems to work the best. It took the anodizing off fast. The only bad it that it tarnished the aluminum but it wont matter after a run over the rocks.

I've done a bunch of "deanodizing" at work too. We have an acid ectch tank as part of the alodine process. About two seconds in there and it's clean as a whistle!

I used the liquid stuff.

Powder coatings! Check out Eastwood company for a home kit and some sample pics. Got a buddy of mine that has a setup with a little oven about the size of a hotel refrigerator. It does a pretty good job if you prep it right and for anodizing you have to pre coat the item in silver or gold to get that translucent look.
