Default Newb E-Maxx questions

I am going to build an entry level crawler out of my e-maxx. I am not looking to go as far as custom chassis except a tube roll cage. I already order a spool for the front differential, beadlocks, swamp dawg tires, 10 tooth pinion and I am looking for a 44 tooth spur gear. I am going to buy a 55 turn lathe motor if I can find one. Is there anything else I would need to buy to make my e-maxx crawl better? What shocks are the best for crawling?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Are you planning on locking out the ifs and irs in to a solid axle and four linking it?

Check here for the motor;

http://www.integy.com/

They are out of stock at this time, but.......

The maxx shocks work really good. Do a search in this section to find more specific information on the maxx.

why in the world are you only running a 44tooth spur gear? :?

stock is 66 tooth. I would at least run a 72 spur gear.. 44 would defeat the purpose of a smaller pinion gear and lathe motor

also... if you lock only one, you will raise havock with your driveline.. so lock both.. it wont matter anyway cause you will need a stronger steering servo for the front
