Default Traxxas Summit + ONYX 240 = :)

Bare with me here... I didn't have time to order a charger online and my local hobby store had 2 choices. Of the 2 the ONYX looked to be a better choice. My Traxxas is new a bone stock.

I just want to make sure Ive got this right - I selected NiMH and 3.0A (Charge current) and It stays at about 970 mAh duriing charge .it takes about 45 min to an hour. I ran it today and it held about a 45 min charge. (And I have to say these things are freaking amazingly fun). I am charging both battery's at the same time and they do get a little warm but that's it.

It seems like you have to tap the brakes a little before you get a controlled reverse. I kept in on the grass for the most part. Is there anything important I need to address before I drive it again?

Any tips or suggestions?

Nope. I think you've got it about right Doc!

You're getting about the right numbers I'd expect out of the truck and the batteries that come stock with it.

Now, NiMH batteries have a bit of a break in period so I'd expect both charge-time, and runtime, to grow by at least a little bit sir!

You could get a little more runtime by getting into a 4k+ battery, such as Traxxas Series 4 batteries, and that would be a great next purchase for ya!

Have fun with that truck, it is a beastly thing!

Thank you Mike, I have to say I am stunned at the difference in the RC hobby truck I had 15 years ago and this truck. Its plenty fast and powerful for my needs. I cant imagine what the modified Summits are like to even try to keep on a track of any kind, these things fly! Everyone that's seen it is in awe. And I'm having a blast chasing my girlfriends dog too
