Default building a emaxx

hey guys. i have a few questions on this build. its going to be a bassher so no crawling here at all. it will most be for speed and ffof style performer. i have brushless motors lying around like the cc 5700 and the 7700 and cc esc like the mm, sidewinder, and sct. would i be better off running an original dual motor setup like the original emaxx does or should i go with the brushless. i know gearing will be an issue to. i have a few setups for that to. any help on this is much appreciated.

Well the brushless setups you listed there are no good for a big heavy Maxx truck.

If you want a foff rig, just go throw some sand paddles on it and call it done.

They might have the wheel speed, but they are lacking the torque to get it there. They would be melted piles of goo by the time they would reach speed. There is no way to gear it low enough...

Depends, it depends on how deep your pockets are and if you still want to play in the water. I ran the Traxxas 775 with pretty good results, I've also ran the Castle Creations MMM/2200 combo, and the Tekin RX8/T8 (2250) combo.

The brushless set ups are really the way to go! The new MMM is already waterproofed! They are happy on 4s and insane on 6s!

MMM= Mamba Monster Max

It is made by Castle Creations. If that is the route that you are going get the newest version which is water proof. If wheelies is what you want, that is what you will get.

Get the MMM/2200 combo and call it good.

As far as LiPos get at least some 30c to stay on the safe side of things. If it were me, I would mix it up and get some 2s and some 3s batteries. That gives the possibility of running 4s, 5s and 6s. Just so you know 6s is evil!
