| Canyon tires on aftermarket wheels?
Have any of you changed the wheels on your TRX4 but re-used the stock tires? I bought some incision wheels and the beads of the tires barely if at all clamp in the rings. It looks like the tires were never designed for bead locks maybe? They keep popping off with the slightest little torque. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the site! Traxxas makes their own beadlock wheels and the Canyons fit those. I have a set of Pitbull tires on Traxxas beadlock wheels. All this together makes me think you should be able to get the Canyons on Incision wheels. |

I mounted the stock Canyon Trail tires on VP Method Roost wheels without any issues. The bead fit the wheel good and have never had a tire pop off. |

I added some Amazon beadlock wheels to mine. Mounted up fine.

The Canyon Trails fit just fine on the VP Method wheels.

I had a set of Boom Racing tires that I absolutely couldn't mount to Incision wheels. The bead of those tires was just too thin and the tires constantly pulled out. But otherwise I'm a big fan of Incision wheels. They work well with pretty much every other tire I've tried.

THINK I got em this time guys. They seem to be stretched maybe. Maybe when I baked them off the stock wheels I don't know. But when laying inside the tire, the wheel is inside of the bead a couple mm. I had to convince the bead into the groove bit by bit and pray it stayed while I tightened the lock down. If you look you can see that the tire is slightly too big. When I got the bead in the groove, the "opposite" side would pop out. Once I was done, there was a slight pucker in the sidewall, but it seems the bead is at least captured now. . *EDIT*. I give up on trying to host an image somewhere...

I wonder if it has something to do with removing tires from stock wheels. Mine were sport kit tires, never mounted. And these are the wheels they are on. https://www.amainhobbies.com/ssd-rc-...iABEgL1WfD_BwE |

I was able to mount Canyon tires on both some Amazon beadlocks as well as a set of Method Roost. I did cut the stock inner foams to get the bead to lay a bit nicer which helped when assembling the wheels.

You're using Google Photos which is notoriously unreliable on this site. Your second attempt with Amazon. When I go to your link I don't even see an option to share the image. You need to use a better image host. Imgur is one that is popular and free.

As I said previously, they mounted up to the VP Roost with any issues. Boiling or heating the tires to remove from the wheels may have deformed them enough to cause issues.

| Re: Canyon tires on aftermarket wheels? Your tire is definitely stretched out. Were you able to get them all mounted? Sometimes, along with freezing the tire, you can put a wide rubber band around the outside diameter of the tire. This compresses the tire against the wheel. This is common in the glued tire world, but it sometimes helps with mounting stubborn beadlocks. |

I thought so. Probably happened taking it off the stock wheels. I was able to get it, but it's not perfect.
