Next day it was time to try it out.. Got it out into the "flowerbeds" at Crazed Acres.. Honestly the truck struggled. I was not able to make it up onto the main trails I run with my scx10II and my Toyzuki V1. It felt very scale tho and a lot of fun. I need to get the Toyzuki back out and see if it is an issue with the trail or with the truck. there was just no traction to be had. Love the truck out of the box, and unlocked and in high gear it can do this..... |

I used to live in Washougal! I bought myself the Sunset one. Make sure to adjust the diff servos, so that they last longer. And check your pinion, I had to slide mine so that the teeth engaged fully with the spur.

Well I've yet to see a scx10ii compete with my defender. And it's standard apart from 20 wt oil and alloy wheels. In fact it's beat everything it has gone against. The rigj t lines and smooth slow delivery are key.

You got a great wife crazed, especially since she picked it out herself. Also good looking pictures.

I agree with the OP my defender is awesome but the scx10 II Seems to do everything much easier. I love the remote features but they don’t seem to improve upon the stock scx10 II . Aside from the high gear which is awesome.

Good girl. She chose the best color scheme too. You can't compare a ToyZuki to a stock, out of the box RTR and expect similar results. |

Yeah I don't think they would behave the same, I thought that it would be more comparable to my SCX10II. My Toyzuki and My SCX10II both do good in their own areas, Pretty cool to see trucks struggle on things the other can do. I ordered some new tires and wheels for the Traxxas, should help quite a bit. SSD steel beadlocks and some XL Rock Beast tires.

Little upgrade happened on the bronco, this thing does not need much. I have been driving it a bit with the rest of my Axials, and it holds its own.. Got these SSD wheel hubs, makes standard SSD wheels fit better.. Then I get their brake rotors, they bolt right onto their steel wheels and fit well with the above hubs.. Speaking of wheels, how about steel bead locks with Pitbull Rock Beast XL? A little bit bigger than stock, but they fit pretty well.. Brake rotors fit well in back of the wheels, no rubbing... Looks pretty good I think.. |

Soo.. I am going to post this on each of the vehicles involved, But I got a big set of Axial trail markers.... I also happened to have 7 trucks running....Tamiya Prerunner, SCX10 Toyzuki, SCX10II, TRX4 Bronco, SCX10II Deadbolt, GCM Skeleton JK, and the SCX10 BFD Deadbolt. Lined up and ready to play.... (Tamiya was an afterthought) So, there are 7 Videos, each one is a stage, I totaled the time after each stage. This was a no practice run it how you brung it type. If I rolled over I started over. Hope you like it, I found it to be interesting. Stage 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU8fciEh5eA Stage 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is3HfpxEpZU Stage 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C51HLRLKiSo Stage 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R94yAs2dtp8 Stage 5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV9u_pQgGJo Stage 6 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEroQK8otdo Stage 7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp9cG9Dfmeg&t=6s Bloopers.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs7x4nBwNeA So things I figured out.. the scx10II has a bad ESC, the JK struggles, and the SCX10II Deadbolt is pretty good right out of the box. After Pics... Fun stuff, thanks for watching. |

I'm with you on the remote features. My defender spends all its time locked anyway, so I'm gonna tie the lines in locked position and use that channel to control the lights instead. | |

Had a day out in the flowerbeds with my son, decided to do the comparison again, this time it was full runs, Boy runs first then I run. Not really fair to compare my driving times to his as I drive them more often than he does. So I look at it as him comparing the cars then me comparing them. This was reduced from 7 cars to 5, as the first hillclimb proved to be impassable for both. Onlt changes to the vehicles from last time is SSD 8 degree steering on the BFD Deadbolt, and a new Castle Mamba X / Slate 1900 setup on the SCX10II 66 Chevy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSXn87LCWnY&t=23s Comparing the trucks to each other for Jacob... 1. SCX10 Toyzuki V1 1:16.8 2. SCX10II 66 Chevy 1:20.2 3. SCX10II Deadbolt 1:27.7 4. TRX4 Bronco 2:01.4 5. SCX10 BFD Deadbolt 2:23.2 My runs... 1. SCX10 Toyzuki V1 1:19.1 2. SCX10II Deadbolt 1:26.5 3. SCX10II 66 Chevy 1:34.0 4. TRX4 Bronco 1:35.0 5. SCX10 BFD Deadbolt 1:54.0 |

So I saw that SSD was making some new wheels... And RC4WD was making some new tires.... Thought I would give them a shot. I think these will work.. Gotta pull my "Disk Brakes" off of the old wheels first.. While The wheels are off, I decided to add the Locked UP Steel front C hubs.. Kind of a challenge with the axle still in place... Added a SSD Servo Arm as well.. Looks good to me.. |
