Default Sport Unassembled kit motor plate play.

Got to the motor installation tonight and noticed my motor has some play from the transmission. It's mounted solidly to the motor plate and the housing is mounted solidly to the chassis, but the motor plate isn't captured tightly enough between the two. I can wiggle the motor back and forth a 1/2 mm or so.

Has anybody else noticed this with theirs? I've pulled it apart and reassembled it 3 times now and it's definitely the parts fit and nothing I've done. Just wondering if I'm an isolated case or if it's happened enough that somebody's come up with an easy fix. I was gonna call Traxxas but of course, tomorrow's Saturday.

Common issue. I put a narrow strip of vinyl tape along the top channel and it now holds in tight. Gave no problems during several trail runs. I eventually picked up an aluminum mount and it is a tighter fit and solved the issue permanently.

I know others have had the same issue I fixed mine by adding a strip of electrical to top and bottom of motor plate.

I did the same as OSRC. I too did the tape trick then eventually bought an alum motor plate and it tightened right up.

I used the Hot Racing alum motor plate, but there are many other brands that may be better to choose from also.

Same issue here, I didn't do anything about it except run the damn thing with a roc412hd on 3s. Holding together so far

Thanks guys. Validation is nice. I'll try the tape until I can get an aluminum mount.

So, temporary fix in place. It's in there pretty solidly but I'm still looking forward to the aluminum one I ordered.

Thanks again for the fast replies guys. Build on.
