At any point during the compression of the vehicle, the wheelbase should not exceed 12.5"....

Copy of the rule 6.4 - Wheelbase: is measured from center of axle nut to center of axle nut. The vehicle should be set down on a flat surface by the driver. The front wheel on the side that is being checked, must be pointing straight forward. At that time, the driver will then cycle the suspension through it's complete extension and compression range while the judge measures the vehicle's maximum wheelbase. At any point the vehicle's wheelbase cannot extend beyond the maximum limit of it’s class. All the above procedures must be duplicated on the opposite side. Note: All vehicles will be teched in the same ready to run condition, and set up as the vehicle will be run on the course. If the vehicles wheelbase is affected by radio control it must be cycled or activated during tech inspection.

| Thanks!
I'm building a Berg Tracer style frame (garage tech) and the rear axle shoots from 12" to 13" fully compressed...that means I'm looking at a frame do over or I can limit the suspension DANG! Both options suck hella bad! |

| yup That's the ticket...the only problem is is that's going to change the flex profile which I have set up so perfectly, but at this point, that's what I'm going to do. |

Move the links a 1/2 inch forward on the chassis and keep your link length

I got the drill out and moved the links up 1/2 and everything is fine...I just wish the uncompressed wheel base was better...I'll plan my nest chassis out better from the start. Thanks for the help everyone |

What year rules is the above from? I may be out of date. My 2010 rules say: 6.4 - Wheelbase: is measured from center of axle nut to center of axle nut. The vehicle should be set down on a flat surface by the driver. The front wheel on the side that is being checked, must be pointing straight forward. At that time, the driver will then push the entire truck down to complete a full compressed suspension. Once full compression has been made, the driver then releases the truck to return to ride height. After the truck has rebound to a self supporting ride height, a judge will then measure the wheelbase. If both sides are to be checked, all the above procedures must be duplicated. EDIT: I just went to the USRCCA web site and looked at what says 2010 rules and it is what you posted, so I guess I missed the update. Last edited by KBrog; 12-02-2010 at 05:11 PM.
